A Master Mariner with 30 years seafaring experience on refrigerated cargo, general cargo, container, dredgers and AHTS vessels including 8 years as master and 11 as a pilot on the river Humber.

The extensive experience gained in AHTS vessels during all types of offshore operations and pilotage on one of the most demanding waterways in the world have been used within LOC to provide expertise on all aspects of ship handling within ports and harbours and offshore with particular emphasis on SPMs and FPSO operations.

Since joining the marine specialist team of LOC he has been involved as owner's representative for the installation of an FPSO off the NW coast of Australia and undertaken the pilotage of tanker lifts at FPSOs and SPMs including maintenance programs.

In addition he has been involved as the owner's and P&I representative during the cutting and lifting of the wreck of the ‘TRICOLOR’ off Zeebrugge and ‘VICUNA’ in Paranagua, Brazil. He has also carried out suitability surveys of heavy lift / crane barges, pipe-laying vessels and tugs for major offshore projects on a worldwide basis.

He has also conducted a number of vessel surveys and investigations for underwriters after large scale oil pollution incidents.
